Britain's Strongest Man 2003

5 x 30 minute heats and 1 x 50 minute final.
1. New series Flipping tyres and pulling anchors are among the tasks in store for the strongmen. Scarborough hosts the first heat in the six-part series - showing on consecutive nights -which also includes the "motorcycle walk" - two 600cc bikes hoisted on a yoke and walked down the course. Presented by John Inverdale , with commentary provided by Paul Dickenson and Jamie Reeve.
2. The titanic Eddy Ellwood is among those flexing their pecs in heat two of the week-long contest. Hoisting a couple of motorcycles onto his shoulders shouldn't be a problem for the former Mr Universe, but will he be able to endure the "Pillars of Hercules" and survive the revamped blood-vessel-bursting squat lift?
3. In heat three of this week's competition, veteran contender Ade Allinson is among the six men pulling buses along Scarborough seafront, dead-lifting giant crates filled with beer barrels and shifting the huge Atlas stones.
4. How will competition newcomer Richard Gosling shape up against veteran Andrew "Stumpy" Raynes and four other endurance athletes in heat four?
5. Crates full of beer barrels could be all that stand between two strongmen and tomorrow's heat one final.
6. Pulling a bus, dragging an anchor and shifting the Atlas stones are just some of the gruelling tasks awaiting the ten finalists in this year's contest in Scarborough. With John Inverdale and Jamie Reeves. Commentary by Paul Dickenson. Presented by John Inverdale.
