Gary Rhodes: New British Classics

1. Gary Rhodes returns with a new six-part series that sees him creating a range of definitive British dishes.
Sunday Lunch. Rhodes prepares roast rib of beef, failsafe Yorkshire puddings, creamed cabbage and bacon, crunchy roast potatoes and red-wine gravy.
2. The chef creates his version of another classic British dish. Suppers and Snacks. Rhodes prepares port-and-stilton toasts, home-made cod and chips that counts a bottle of lager among its ingredients, and introduces a new twist on traditional shepherd's pie.
3. Alfresco. As part of his gastronomic guidance for outdoor eating, Gary Rhodes prepares chicken sandwiches, pork pies, tomato soup, cheese-leek-and-mushroom flan, home-made Scotch eggs, and salad cream.
4. Breakfast. Bangers, bacon, omelettes and pancakes are all on the menu for creating the perfect breakfast as chef Gary Rhodes issues a wake-up call for all those who regularly choose to skip the first meal of the day.
5. Afternoon Tea. Gary Rhodes cooks the perfect scone, devils and angels on horseback, a jam omelette, vegetarian sausage rolls and home-made malt loaf as part of his guide to the quintessential British delights of afternoon tea.
6. Puddings. In the last of the series. Gary Rhodes returns to his debut culinary creation, lemon-sponge pudding, with its creator. Marguerite Patten. He also cooks his signature dish - bread-and-butter pudding- and prepares chocolate treacle sandwich and egg-custard tart with nutmeg ice cream.
