A Facebook application (Chemistry's first) for Orange that can tell people what phone they should be using based on the information available about them on their profile page (Music, Photos, Social Networking, All-rounder). Phonepicker is unique in that it matches a phone to a user's behaviour, rather than their demographic.
Once permission is obtained from a user, the app scrapes their profile page and matches against a range of phones to determine the most suitable one. The app not only looks at the information contained on their profile pages, such as music or photos uploaded, but also on how they interact with the site, including the number of messages they receive from friends and whether they use messaging. While the app was calculating the right handset to display it presented some lovely animations using photos of the user and their friends, plus some recent wall messages.
